Affiliate program terms

Last updated October 13, 2026

These affiliate program terms ("Affiliate Terms") govern your participation in the Stagingmate affiliate program (the "Program"). By signing up as a partner, you agree to these Affiliate Terms and to our Terms of service and Privacy policy. "Partner" and "you" mean the person or company that joins the Program. The Program's partner portal and tracking are run for us by our affiliate software provider, Tolt.

1. Joining the Program

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. Partner accounts are approved automatically, but we may review any account at any time and may decline, suspend or remove a partner who doesn't meet these Affiliate Terms. You are responsible for keeping your partner account details, including your payout details, accurate and up to date.

2. Referrals and tracking

When someone clicks your referral link, a tracking cookie is stored in their browser for 90 days. A purchase counts as your referral if it's made by a new Stagingmate customer during that window, using the browser the link was opened in, and it's recorded by our tracking system.

We can't credit referrals that aren't tracked, for example when cookies are blocked or cleared, or the customer buys on another device. Only new customers count: people who already have a paid account, or had one before clicking your link, aren't eligible. If more than one partner refers the same customer, the referral goes to the partner our tracking credits. Our tracking records are final.

3. Commission

You earn 30% of each payment we receive from a customer you referred during their first 12 months as a customer, counted from the date of their first payment. This covers monthly and yearly plans, renewals and credit packs. Payments after those 12 months don't earn commission.

Commission is calculated on the amount we actually receive, excluding taxes, and is paid in US dollars. If a payment is refunded, disputed or charged back, the commission on it is cancelled, or deducted from your future earnings if it has already been paid.

4. Payouts

Commissions are paid on NET-30 terms: earnings for a calendar month become payable about 30 days after that month ends. A payout is only made once your unpaid balance reaches at least $25. Smaller balances carry over to the next payout.

You can be paid straight to your bank account or by PayPal, whichever you choose in your partner dashboard. We aren't responsible for payments delayed or lost because of incorrect payout details. You're responsible for any fees your bank or PayPal charges, and for reporting and paying any taxes on your earnings. We may ask for tax forms (such as a W-9 or W-8) or identity details before paying you, and may hold payouts until we receive them.

5. What's not allowed

To keep the Program fair, you may not, and may not help anyone else:

  • refer yourself, use your own referral link to buy for your own account, or refer accounts you own, control or share, including your company's or a team's you belong to (self-referrals);
  • create fake accounts, use stolen payment details, or arrange purchases only to earn commission;
  • bid on "Stagingmate", "Staging Mate", "stagingmate.com" or any misspelling or variation of them in Google Ads, Bing Ads or any other paid search or social ad platform, or use them in ad copy or display URLs;
  • register or use domain names, social profiles or app names that contain "Stagingmate", "Staging Mate", "stagingmate.com" or any misspelling or variation of them;
  • pretend to be Stagingmate, or suggest you're an employee or official representative;
  • make false or misleading claims about the Service, its pricing, results or features, or offer discounts, coupons or deals we haven't given you;
  • send spam or unsolicited messages, or promote your link on sites with illegal, adult, hateful or otherwise harmful content;
  • use cookie stuffing, hidden frames, pop-unders, browser extensions or other methods that set referral cookies without a real click from an interested person;
  • offer cash, gifts or other rewards to people for signing up or buying through your link.

6. Disclosure

You must clearly tell your audience that you may earn a commission when they buy through your link, in a way that meets the advertising laws where you and they are located, such as the US Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guides. A short note like "I earn a commission if you sign up through my link" next to the link is usually enough.

7. Using our brand

While you're a partner, you may use the Stagingmate name, logo and product screenshots to promote the Service, as long as you don't change them or use them in a misleading way. You may not use them for anything else, and you must stop using them when you leave the Program. We may ask you to change or remove content that promotes Stagingmate, and you agree to do so promptly.

8. Fraud, holds and reversals

If we reasonably believe a referral or commission breaks these Affiliate Terms or involves fraud, we may withhold, reverse or cancel the commissions involved, hold your payouts while we investigate, and close your partner account. Commissions earned through a breach of these Affiliate Terms are never payable.

9. Changes and ending the Program

We may change these Affiliate Terms, the commission rate, the referral window or the payout rules at any time. Changes apply from the date we post them here and don't reduce commissions already earned. You may leave the Program at any time. We may end your participation, or the Program, at any time. When that happens, we'll pay valid commissions earned before the end date that meet the payout minimum, unless your account was closed for a breach of these Affiliate Terms.

10. Our relationship

You're an independent contractor. Nothing in these Affiliate Terms makes you our employee, agent, partner in a legal sense or joint venturer, and you may not make promises or sign agreements on our behalf. You don't need to promote us exclusively, and we may work with other partners, including ones that compete with you.

11. Liability

The Program is provided as it is. We don't promise any level of earnings or that tracking will be uninterrupted or error free. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you under these Affiliate Terms is limited to the commissions paid or owed to you in the 12 months before the claim. Everything else, including governing law and how disputes are handled, is as set out in our Terms of service.
