We read 1,500 recent 1-star Google Play reviews of the 10 biggest US home and rental apps. 22% complain about map, search and filters and 19% about bugs, crashes and slowness. Only 9% mention listings that were already sold, wrong or fake. Zillow leads the download chart with 50,000,000+ installs.
Stagingmate ResearchRatings and install bands from each app's Google Play listing. Each 1-star review tagged with every complaint theme whose keywords it contains: map/search/filters, bugs/crashes/slowness, login/account/alerts, listings already sold/wrong/fake, agents calling/texting/spam, fees/applications, ads.
Keyword tagging is approximate: a review can match several themes or none, and common words like "search" can match reviews that aren't about search tools. Install counts are Google Play's global bands. Apple App Store data is not included in this edition.
